OCEAN'S ELEVEN (2001) - SITE INTRODUCTION

The www.oceans11.co.uk site was set up in December 2000 in an effort to provide information on the original Ocean's 11 movie from 1960, and the Steven Soderbergh directed "remake" which was then in pre-production. Since then it has evolved into wide-ranging info source focusing on the filming of the new movie and just about anything associated with it. As this movie is now released, I hope this site will prove to be a good alternative to the official site for info. I've concentrated mainly on issues related to casting, production and promotion.

The remake plan is to put a contemporary spin on the old Ocean's 11 story so expect just the basic framework to be carried forward (i.e it's really less of a remake). It's shaping up to be one of the big movies of this year. Produced by Warner Brothers, filming started on the 11th of February and ended in June. The release date was the 7th December 2001 (after an LA premiere on the 5th) in the US, therefore qualifying for the Oscar's the following March. with a slight variation on the title this time ("Ocean's Eleven" instead of "Ocean's 11")
